Please Pray

Last fall I had the honor of capturing this little beauty when she was just a few days old.  While typical newborn sessions include sleepy babies, this sweet girl kept her eyes open the entire time.  She didn't want to miss anything!

Last week, she tested positive for Enterovirus and Rhinovirus. According to her mom's Facebook post, "these are both very common stomach and cold like viruses that are usually easy to recover from. In extreme situations, sometimes these viruses can attack the heart. This is one prognosis of what they think happened to her, especially with how fast she declined. They also want to see if she could possibly have something wrong with her heart genetically that could be the cause. Yesterday while trying to place her breathing tube, (to relieve her heart of the labored breathing she was experiencing) her vitals started to decline. They decided to place her on bypass (Echmo) to give her heart time to recover from being sick. Basically, the Echmo machine is doing the work for her heart while she heals. They have decided that it would be in her best interest to transport her to Washington University hospital in St. Louis for them to continue her care. The reason for the transfer is Wash U is capable of doing many other procedures for her, should she need them. If a transplant is the answer, she will already be there (where they due the transplants on pediatric cardiology patients) and should move pretty quickly to the top of the transplant list with the severity of her condition should it be necessary."

They are scheduled to transfer her to St. Louis Tuesday morning, where her parents will join her. Please keep baby Haevyn in your prayers, along with her family and doctors.
